About

I’m a 50+ guy who likes fixing up old cars. I consider working on auto repair to be a luxury, akin to painting or golf. In my lifetime I have worked on just about every car I ever owned, but some were older ones purchased specifically for fixing up. When fixing up a car I tend to focus on cosmetics and getting every little thing to work right. Increasingly I’m willing to take on mechanical fixes instead of leaving them to the pros as I have done in the past. Here is a list of automobiles I helped to restore with a few notes:

  • 1970’s Fiat Spider, Body work, paint.
  • 1967 Austin-Healey Sprite. Re-covered the seats in leather I hand stitched.
  • 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle. Fixed up for my daughter. Electrical, cosmetics, steering, suspension.
  • 1973 Pontiac Firebird Esprit. Fixed up for my son. Full dash removal and rebuild, HVAC, paint, rebuilt engine, lots of stuff, so lots.
  • 2004 Jaguar XK8. My daily driver. HVAC, Seats, Suspension, Doors. I constant battle to keep all the warning lights off.
